AHA Beginner 2D Fine Art Painting Workshop
Rebecca Luttio, Instructor
This class is part of our online STEM & STEAM program for kids.
Zoom painting class for children
Before each class, the instructor will prepare a beginner level painting to display that students will learn to recreate. Primary, junior high, and secondary students will be able to follow step-by-step instructions on how to recreate this painting while also learning basic art principles (as stated above). Each painting will take approximately 2-3 classes for the students to fully complete. Each painting will emphasize certain specific skills and techniques.
How do online art classes for kids and teens work?
By the end of the course, online k12 students will know the primary colors and how to mix them appropriately to create a myriad of other colors on the color wheel. Students will understand what colors are used to create distance, shadowing and perspective.
Students will understand which brushes to use to create thin vs. fat lines, harsh strokes versus smooth/undetected and why/when such brush strokes should be applied.
Students will have a basic understanding of geometric principles to create realistic shapes: urban vs. nature.
Schedule
Each painting is a 3-week project in a 90-minute class.
